IRENA Aftercare Program

IRENA is an intensive rehabilitation aftercare program exclusively for BfA patients. It can be recommended for patients as a follow-up to inpatient, outpatient, or partial outpatient rehabilitation. The program can be initiated before leaving the rehabilitation center. The purpose of the IRENA program is to stabilize and improve on the results achieved during rehabilitation for use in daily life.

Requirements

Financing of the IRENA program is offered exclusively by the BfA. The IRENA program can be initiated after you have received inpatient, outpatient, or partial outpatient rehabilitation, and with the recommendation of your rehabilitation doctor.

Application and Approval

Application for follow-up rehabilitation must be made during your stay for therapy in the rehabilitation center. You receive one copy to present to the aftercare facility. The facility then initiates the approval process and can start the program immediately.

Therapy

Before beginning therapy, you receive a thorough medical examination. Using the results of the examination, the doctor, together with the therapeutic team, develops a customized therapy plan for you. Treatment is over a period of eight weeks and takes place two or three times weekly in group sessions of 90 to 120 minutes.
